Weekend School

Assalamu Alaikum Warhmatulhi Wabarakatu and welcome to the EMAS  (Darul-Hijrah Islamic School) Weekend learning.

The teachers and the administrative staff of Darul-Hijrah Islamic School  are committed to maximizing your child’s potential. We all know that children learn more and have better lives when students, teachers, and parents work collaboratively. The school management, staff, and parents must work together and support each other’s efforts. In addition, we request all parents to play an active role at home during the weekdays so that we can together achieve our goals.

At Darul-Hijrah Quran School, our aim is to provide students with the tools they need to excel in Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic. We at DHQS are committed to helping students become model citizens in a diverse society and maintain their education and values in accordance with the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.

DHQS Objectives

We will certainly bring new challenges and opportunities for you and your children. Our educational efforts are aimed at shaping the minds of and hearts of our students according to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the blessed Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Therefore, the students will gradually be introduced to the Holy Quran, Hadith, Seerah, Fiqh, the lives of the sahaba’s, and other historical figures in Islamic history.

In order to create a comprehensive program that would fulfill the Islamic education atmosphere, DHQS has established and defined its educational objectives. The objectives of Darul-Hijrah Islamic School are :

  • To Provide Quran, Islamic Studies and Arabic teaching to your children
  • To provide the children an opportunity to meet and know each other and thereby strengthen their bond as a Muslim ummah.
  • To help the youth be more aware of Islam and its practices so that their future role in the Muslim society is clear.
  • To instill in our students a love for learning Quran and the Sunnah and continue to give back to the community once they complete the program
“خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ”
“The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it”

Classes are offered from 10AM-2PM on the weekends to students 5 years and older. The school day is divided into two classes: Quran and Islamic studies. Students are taught to read and write in Arabic while learning the Quran. Students are then taught the Tajweed and memorization of the Quran. The Islamic Studies curriculum is aligned with the student’s grade level.  Students are expected to reflect on the teachings and principles of Islam and how they relate to their lives.
